WSU-PULLMAN GATEWAY,

The WSU + Pullman Gateway Project is a collaboration that is a shared vision in which it was developed by both city government and university administrators.  The gateway collaboration’s purpose is embodied between the relationship of both city and university, the gateway’s design is considering the relationship between students and local citizens. The design I have incorporated features various multi-purpose residencies and innovative transportation systems, that will complement the city planning, along with new facilities on Washington State University’s campus. The focus of the proposed master plan is to embody a carbon neutral future that understands the responsibility of clean energy and low carbon emissions construction of newly proposed infrastructure. Beginning with multimodal transportation options, both partnerships of city and university, advocacy in biking, public transportation and walking will create a healthy and clean energy lifestyle will attract people from all around the Pullman area. The multi-transport system will feature electric-bikes, fuel-celled buses, an electric campus funicular and a long-distance electric train for interstate travel.

The facilities provided, given new circulation to the daily life in Pullman, there are many amenities from local shops, public transportation and interactive opportunities that will allow growth within the newly constructed structures. Through bringing in new observation systems and strolling through the bridge system gives the user experience a chance to live the site in a different way. Along with built aesthetics the greenspace of the site has opportunity for pollinators to enter the residential and the transport facilities, with the hanging vines, the planters on platforms, the perennial gardens provide a blend with the newly constructed structures that can create a great user experience.
