Our project this semester is the Kelly Ward Memorial Path. A schematic design and conceptual plan have been prepared by Ben DeRubertis in collaboration with the Kelly Ward Memorial Path Planning Committee. The concept needs to be further refined as the ideas progress through the design process (design development and construction documentation) in order to result in a document that will be used to bid and build the memorial pathway and associated site features. Our project this semester is the Kelly Ward Memorial Path. The concept needs to be further refined as the ideas progress through the design process (design development and construction documentation) in order to result in a document that will be used to bid and build the memorial pathway and associated site features. Our class proposes to take the conceptual design along with the survey provided by Facilities and with the KWMP Planning Committee and WSU Facilities as our “clients” prepare construction drawings that may be used to build the memorial pathway.
The second project is a precedent project developed through the development of a schematic design and conceptual plan to be a semester long project in teams to illustrate and show design development to practice CAD systems. The illustration is a religious institution that was used to design a courtyard that would allow a communal gathering space and give the opportunity for their parishioners to expand. The collaboration is a team effort in designing and developing a plan to effectively design an area for community equity.
This last project is a Three Story building under the project name of Riverstone II Office Building that was designed in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho for the community to do local banking to and from. The project was a past Design/Build work from the School of Design & Construction, with the Construction Management department as the owners of the project. Developed construction documents was accessible to determine the corrections, scheduling, and estimation of structural components to efficiently complete this building in due time. This project was a case study and served as precedent for the students minoring in Construction Management to further study the development of construction within the two-sided coin of design & construction
